Yokiyo – Korean Social Food

Before they set up their Korean restaurant, these 2 guys Tim Doornewaard and Domingo Astma were known as the Korean Taco Party boys appearing in food festivals in Amsterdam. With their concept of modern Korean food, together with Jamyz Pool they had successfully win the hearts of both locals and tourists with their restaurant which is located in downtown Amsterdam. Friendly service and good comfort food are the essentials that make people keep coming back. The menu card has a selection of dishes from entrees, main courses, DIY Bbq and their Chef Menu. So if you choose for BBQ , you will be seated in the BBQ section. We had the Chef Menu 4 courses €34.50 per person and we sat at The Salon section overlooking the canal. One thing which is unique and I like the idea of their slogan “Korean Social Food” literally we are sharing all the dishes that are being presented by courses on the table. From time to time it is nice to do something different when going out with a group. There’s a Bar/Ground Floor section, Korean BBQ Tables section on the 1st floor and Salon area where you can dine for Chefs Menu.

Pros: Friendly service, good ambience, modern Korean food

Cons: Difficult to find parking spot. Alternative is a parking garage at Bijenkorf.
